Who am I?

This is one of the deepest questions a human being can ask……with a myriad of answers. The question “Who are you?” can be answered in various contexts. It could be in response to a question in an interview, or to someone seeking to know your identity. But let’s go deeper. WHO ARE YOU?
When God made man and put him in the garden, God made man in the image of God (Gen 1: 26-28.).
God gave man free will, the power of choice. He gave man intellect, reasoning, and many other attributes not available to birds of the air or animals of the field. God made man to have dominion and be powerful…… and to remind us of our uniqueness…he gave man the power of choice. This choice was exercised poorly by Eve and Adam but that is a story for another day.

WHO ARE YOU?
You are a spiritual being in human flesh that is created in the image of God. God set before man life and death, but urged man to choose life.  Deuteronomy 30:19. How do you exercise this choice? What are you choosing today? Deuteronomy 30:20 gave follow up conditions to this. The summary is Obedience!
 You are the son of the most high King. John 1:12 says for as many as received him, to them he gave the POWER to become the sons of God. Have you received him? Would you not like to receive this POWER that transforms from inside out?
John 1:4. In HIM was life, and the life was the light of men. Who ever has the SON (JESUS) has life. 1 John 5:12, he that has not the SON has not life.
1 John 5:20-21. Whoever has the SON has special wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Old things are passed away and behold, all things become new. Verse 21 says, little children, keep yourselves from idols. What is that idol in your life today? Is it the latest clothes, shoes, cars, houses, phones and gadgets? What is that thing that preoccupies your mind other than God? We need to watch it. Our focus must be on our creator always. For we shall all die….that is inevitable! Then what next??? The Judgement!

In closing, give your life to the source of life….. JESUS CHRIST. Read the above points and bible verses again. May God give you wisdom even as YOU CHOOSE LIFE!
